Puerto Vallarta 2012

I really don't have enough words to describe our experiences in Mexico. "Life-changing" doesn't even begin to cover it. It's amazing how when you go outside your comfort zone and experience a world so different from your own your whole outlook on life changes.

Here are some of the highlights from our 2012 trip...

Our construction team poured a cement floor, primed and painted walls,
and made this building ready to hold a church service for the local pastor by Father's Day Sunday.

Our medical team saw 30-50 patients each day.
We treated everything from headaches and rashes to stitching up a 4 inch gash on a man's foot from stepping on glass. A pregnant teen mother heard her baby's heartbeat for the first time and an elderly woman got the medication she needed but couldn't afford.

Our food team cooked meals for around 250 people each day.
One day we drove a cooler of extra hotdogs and oranges to a remote area inside the dump and little kids came out of nowhere running through sewage water to grab food and run off again.

Each day our children's ministry put on puppet shows and skits,
did all sorts of crafts and fun projects with the little kids
and played soccor with the big kids.
You could tell that they enjoyed the chance to just play and be kids.

In the evenings we had a time of praise and worship.
